Sending big hugs

April 21st, 2022

Hey and welcome again. Today a card with a product I really love, the turnabout stamp from Concord & 9th. Fast and easy backgrounds and depending on the colours you use they can be so different! A friend of mine broke her foot and her health isn't that good so I thought she could use a paper hug.

This card is made with a turnabout stamp, if you have never seen one please search them. I learned they exist because of Jennifer McGuire. I placed the turnabout jig in my stamping buddy and taped my cardbase with removable tape on it. I placed the stamp in the middle, because of the jig it is very easy and even with the newer designs. For details I really refer to videos of Jennifer, so you can see it yourself.

I started with saltwater taffy, it was my newest colour and I love it! After stamping I cleaned the stamp, turned my jig with the cardstock taped on it a quarter and placed it back in the corner of my stamping buddy. I inked it again, this time with salvaged patina and repeated this. After cleaning the stamp I turned the jig with the cardstock again a quarter and placed it back in the corner, now I inked it up with carved pumpkin and for the last turn I used shabby shutters. So by turning your paper you create a full background.

I needed a nice sentiment and I saw some curvy leaves from Pinkfresh Studio on my table and thought about using them. I remembered the stampset from Lawn Fawn with the magic messages and stamped it with versafine clair nocture and die cut it. Placed the leaves, put some foam tape on the back of the circle with the sentiment and added some liquid glue where it was necessary on the leaves to keep them in place. I used foam tape on the back of the card and placed it on a cardbase and with some sequins from Nuvo the card was finished. A quick, nice, springfeeling card and because of the turnabout stamp you can make your own designed paper.
