Welcome on my blogpost, this time I am sharing a valentines card I have made with mostly Pinkfresh Studio products.
This year I wanted to make a valentines card for my mom. She is such a lovely woman and takes care of me, is there always for me when I need help or advice and let me make my own mistakes. The woman who loves me unconditionally! She deserves just a beautiful card right?
I had some new products from Pinkfresh Studio and had an idea. The floral envelope stamp, die and stencil set from the latest release was perfect in my opinion.
I made an US A2 topfolded card with my new heffy doodle cardstock which is US letter size, what is perfect for A2 cards! And it is such a smooth cardstock. Further I used crafter's companion white stamping cardstock A4, this is my most used cardstock and it is great for stamping, heat embossing, inkblending, dry embossing and diecutting.
I use the sparkling diamonds die for the background, isn't this die incredible?
So what did I do for the rest? I started to heat embos the envelope on white cardstock and on vellum. I used my new hero arts white satin pearl embossing powder. On the cardstock I blended a bit of Pinkfresh Studio Coral Reef with a blending brush. Also I used the layering stencils, which are easy to line up, to blend the flowers and the bow. The flowers I used coral reef and passion fruit for the details. The leaves I blended with Rangers distress oxide shabby shutters, a light touch for the first stencil and a heavier blend for the details. The bow is done with slumber and blue jay from Pinkfresh.
After stenciling I used the stamps to line up in my stamping tool from Nellie Snellen. I used my magic anti-static pouch to remove oil and static, I stamped the images with WOW embossing ink and I used again the satin pearl powder and heated it with my WOW heat tool on the low setting. I discovered I have less warping with the low setting and just a good result for heat embossing. Learned this from Kristina Werner!
I lined up my dies and got my Sizzix big shot plus and used the sandwich for thin dies. I also cut the vellum envelope.
Now just finding out which layout I want... I already had a love die precut from another project and it was perfect for this card. Also this is from Pinkfresh Studio. First I wanted the envelope in the middle, but that wasn't working with the love die. So I decided to first assemble my envelope. I used liquid glue from Dutch Doobadoo in a precision bottle to glue the vellum envelope on the cardstock one, this gave me the perfect soft colour. I used glue on the embossed lines so the glue was hidden. The flower bouquet fits into the cut in the envelop and I glued it together with some foam tape behind the flowers for some dimension. The bow is also with some dimension glued on the envelope and even the envelope has some foam tape for dimension. The love die is stacked from two white diecuts and the top layer is from holographic cardstock for a nice shiny touch.
Normally I would have added sequins or pearls, but this time I decided this was just good enough this way.
Curious what products I have used for this project?
